happy camera club is an initiative brought upon by a thought to make constructive use of time by teaching not so privileged basic aspects of skill like photography which further can be used by them in their day to day life.
To teach photography to the less privileged and leave them with an additional skill set to choose from.A win-win situation we work with organizations and people who support this cause.View our presentation here

FAQS
What are the actions of Happy Camera Club ?
by teaching not so privileged basic aspects of skill like photography which further can be used by them in their day to day life.
Photography and photo editing (software skills) are practical skills which potentially increase chances of students towards employment. In the same time it gives children chance to explore their creativity and self-expression. Learning how to build portfolio and interaction in the group is surely relevant social experience which can help to build positive self-image and confidence/skills in social interactions.
Why ?
We don’t have an answer to it. It just came from within. It was very passionate.
Rather than hearing all sorts of stories and mulling over it ,we wanted to act.
It was a proactive decision. To do something meaningful with whatever resources we had with us instead of waiting for things to happen.
To have a passion is good To follow what you are passionate about is great To make a living out of it is bestHow ?
With dignity. ( we believe in the power of each individual to be the change. We look for empowerment of the individual not dependency . Just because of the bad luck of their situation doesnโt mean they should be without options)
Through effective management . ( though we have scant resources effectively it works to our advantage. Right from arranging the cameras to collecting the images and then rolling out the prints . we look at technology to solve the challenges)
Using Photography as a tool (Taking the alternative choice of medium and go beyond the straight jacketed way of thinking )
What does it aim to achieve ?
a) To understand oneself and build self expression by learning a skill set that not only is meaningful but also interesting to implement i.e photography
b) Social inclusion . Photography as a medium has the power to go beyond the usual society norms.
c) Provide a possible means of livelihoods through individual empowerment
Nature of workshops ?
Each workshop usually last for a month culminating in a body of work taken by students. During these workshops the students learn various aspects of photography ,though many of them holding the camera for the first time are quite happy just to press the button !!
We teach using point and shoot cameras and are always in need of a fewโฆ
Do we charge the students taking workshops ?
No. The classes are free of cost. Our students are coming from backgrounds that are n’t relatively well off. So we aim to support them through our own means
We expect the organizations, individuals who work alongside us to support financially and operationally in organizing the workshops.
