We have been keeping pretty quiet past one month . Hardly any communication, news ,or social media. We wanted to give our self some time. Understand whether it was really worth the energies and effort doing such workshop ? Takes a lot of commitment and we don’t want to do for the sake of it . Education for me is a serious occupation. And then probably doing something commercial will end up paying at least six times more and is a lot easier to conduct than one workshop at HCC. So a lot of thought went through start of January. And we have come to conclusion, we shall continue pursuing it with strong intentions for at least one more year.Siyana, Bikaner district
We ended up visiting the rustic town of Bikaner and from there followed it up by staying in a village called Siyana, some fifty kms from it. Its a non-touristy village with hardly any visitors and certainly very limited resources. But for us these traits make it attractive. A small market that serves basic requirements of farmers, a primary school, a temple and lot of farmers. You get Bajre kee roti to eat and feel like having all the time in world to roam around.
I wanted to check whether a workshop can be done in a village like this and what if after doing the workshop I end up giving the cameras to villagers so they still continue photographing. This was not the only reason for the trip . As the entire month has been a sort of brainstorming over how to conduct the workshops and make it self sufficient , we decided to break the entire process into two parts. While HCC will handle anything related to education, we shall float another firm that handles tourism and merchandise. So, we now have a home-stay in this small village of Siyana where we shall invite friends and fellow travellers to have a feel of the village courtesy of our wonderful friend Bhawani Singh who’s working with us on this other project. We shall update with more details soon but for now I can post a few pictures of the place. Our first trips are on till the end of March and we shall also be conducting Yoga classes and Miniature painting sessions. We don’t recommend anyone staying there after March unless you are a hardcore traveller and would like to take on such a trip .
So this is it from us until now. Quite excited on our new venture , but happy as it will keep us busy . For travellers by a group of fellow travellers .More updates soon .For now anyone can write to us for more details at firstname.lastname@example.org
