feather and wood, Anish
Safdarjung Tomb,Delhi @Aftab
We had a couple of brilliant sessions and they ended up with a pigeon dropping its shit on my pants. Lots of shit. Happened for the first time and it brought out a burst of laughter from the students. The photography students themselves were difficult to handle. Both during classes and on field. The first few classes were a big challenge and it was a big test for me. A few arrived late, it took time to download images, the projector conked off when it was expected the least and then a many forgot to take images . Duh!!

But then i saw a few images and silence prevailed. A motley crew and a set of unexpected pictures. That really surprised me and got me into thinking. Aftab is more into graphics and loves pattern and geometry or as it may seem. Harneet is fearless ( i want to share one pic he took the other day tomorrow) and take pictures of people. Brijesh is a natural and Anish is quick too. Puneet hardly takes pictures but will be with you all the time. The students are gelling well now .It was quite adorable to see Brijesh and Puneet helping Vinod in metro in a wheelchair . And to top it off a friend gave us a surprise visit this Saturday and treated us to lunch. That was fun.

The next step for us is a few more edit sessions and see how these students are taking up photography. Maybe a couple of them will continue taking pictures. This coming Sunday we shall show a movie on photography as well . I really do hope they take pictures and sort them out in the computer. We learnt one important this week otherwise: how to pass on cameras to the students. That was a big relief !!
